Coming from a traveling and multifaceted oral tradition, Didier Dufour and Stephane Devineau blend their colors in a unique duo. Kora and violin stretch a thread between Mali and Poitou—a melodic and enchanting thread that vibrates with compositions and borrowed influences. An imaginary music, an imagined weaving, two sensibilities resonating in balance. DUDE is a free and curious folk, tinged with mischief and sweetness. A special TroisBulles creation!

Didier Dufour
Kora
Initially a self-taught multi-instrumentalist, Didier then trained in West African percussion in Paris with masters such as Mamady Keïta, Famoudou Konaté, Séga Sidibé, and Soungalo Coulibaly.
He cut his teeth in the capital’s café-concerts with clarinetist Alexandre Autelain and met saxophonist Akosh.s, with whom he notably played at the Jazz sous les pommiers festival in 2005. Along the way, he discovered the Kora in Bamako, within the family of Ballaké Sissoko. He later organized workshops with the korafola Ali Boulo Santos.
Since then, never without his kora, he has navigated various musical worlds, from Afro and Latin to reggae and rap, as with the group Marcus & CookieMonkey, or jazz with Brâme de Zéphir. He also accompanies shows for young audiences with the Nour company and leads workshops with the Compagnie des Airs Sauvages.

Stephane Devineau
Violin
Stéphane began learning music with traditional musicians from Poitou at the age of 12. A fiddler at heart, he continued his self-taught training during his university years, taking an interest in Irish and Quebecois music.
He began his musical career with MesSouliersSont Rouges and toured France and Europe for over 10 years. He then played in Allocaroline (chanson) and Mandarine (children’s folk dance). As a teacher and facilitator, he also focuses on transmission and mediation within the Compagnie des Airs Sauvages, where he organizes and supervises training sessions, workshops, and courses centered on oral tradition music.
A multi-instrumentalist, author, composer, and arranger, he is now a member of Dude, a duo where he focuses on improvisation and composition.
